On Wednesday, April 22, FLACRA hosted its Spring Social in Rochester, NY, bringing together community partners, supporters, and staff for an evening centered around connection and shared purpose.

The event created space for people to network, reconnect, and learn more about the work happening across our region. It also served as an opportunity to highlight where FLACRA is headed next, especially in the Greater Rochester area.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was sharing plans for our future Wellness and Recovery Clinic at 373 North Street. This new location will replace our current East Avenue site and will be part of the True North Development, a supportive housing development led by DePaul Properties in partnership with Person Centered Housing Options, Rochester Interfaith Development Corporation, and FLACRA.

This project has been years in the making and reflects a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families through access to stable housing and integrated care. When complete, the development will include 70 units of affordable and supportive housing, along with on-site services designed to meet people where they are.

The evening also featured a digital silent auction with 13 unique packages, including overnight stays, dining experiences, and themed bundles.

What made the auction especially meaningful was the level of participation. Community members and FLACRA staff joined in, even if they were not able to attend the event in person. Five of the auction packages were won by FLACRA employees, showing how our team continues to support the mission in both big and small ways.

Jennifer Carlson, President and CEO of FLACRA, stated, “This project represents years of partnership and planning, and it reflects what is possible when organizations come together with a shared commitment to community. Our role at True North is to provide integrated, whole-person care for individuals and families who need it most. We are proud to be part of something that is not only expanding services, but helping sustain people in a meaningful and lasting way.”

From start to finish, the Spring Social reflected what makes this work possible. Strong partnerships. Community support. And a shared commitment to helping people access the care and resources they need.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and continues to stand with FLACRA as we grow and expand services in Rochester and beyond.
