FLACRA Announces Selection as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic

It is with great excitement that we announce the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) has designated FLACRA a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

FLACRA’s CCBHC is a one stop wellness center and will offer a comprehensive array of services that will create access to care, stabilize individuals in crisis and provide the necessary treatment for those with the most serious, complex mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Our population of focus are adults, youth and children with SMI, SED, SUD or COD and primarily low-income/Medicaid recipients. FLACRA’s trauma informed services will ensure an approach to health care that emphasizes recovery, wellness and physical-behavioral health integration.

By expanding capacity, we will be able to bridge the addiction and mental health treatment gaps, provide continuity of care to those impacted by opioids, establish innovative partnerships with our jails, community organizations, schools and hospitals that will improve care and reduce readmission, reoccurrence and recidivism.

Statement from FLACRA CEO, Jennifer Carlson

“FLACRA is proud to be selected for this generous award. This grant will expand the integration of services and treatment for individuals and families impacted by addiction and mental health issues. We are passionate in our mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities of Yates and Ontario counties and the entire Fingers Lakes Region. In collaboration with our local community partners, this innovative, integrated service delivery model will offer increased engagement, access, coordination and earlier behavioral health intervention, and quality outcomes for those experiencing complex behavioral health challenges.”

Yates and Ontario counties are medically underserved. This rural area also has a very small number of behavioral health providers, high poverty rates, homelessness and a limited public transportation system. Therefore, by providing this evidence based, integrated mental health and substance use interventions for treatment and case management services, FLACRA can improve client retention and health outcomes. Our Peer support services for individuals and their families will be a conduit to help streamline service deliveries for these vulnerable populations.

As we implement this innovative program, our leadership team will continue to work with our government and health and community partners to be a resource to the residents in our communities at-large. We thank you for your support as we work together to serve our community. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. For up-to-date news, please visit flacra.org
